Poly-Optical UniGlo provides long life, low power, inert, maintenance free backlighting for all switch and control panel designs.
 

Longer Life - Durable fiber optic panel never needs replacement.  Remote light source offers 10,000 to 100,000 hours life and easy replacement. 

Lower Power - Sources require less power than EL and no inverter.  As little as 10-20 mA at 2 volts dc 

Compact Size - Panels are thin and sources are smaller than EL inverters. 

Heat/EMI Free - Fiber optic panel adds no heat or EMI to interfere with switch operation

Poly-Optical  uses either Woven or Uniglo panels (see Fiber Optic Technology Page for a detailed description) to create this thin, pliable backlight. 

In applications involving keypads, Lumitex can be used under either the keypads or the switch layers. The intensity is high enough to provide superior illumination through all switch and keypad layers. 

An LED is the most common light source.  A single LED can illuminate up to 4.0" wide.and 10" long.   Wider panels require multiple LED's.  Any T1-3/4 (5mm) round LED can be used and the panels can be customized to accept T-1 (3mm) round LED's.  Lumitex carries 5 standard LED's which are optimized to this product.  They are White, Green, Blue, Amber and Red. 

Fiber Optic Panels can also be lit with incandescant and higher wattage halogen sources for additional brightness.
